Halo 5 Guardians Forge coming to Windows 10

Forge, on the PC?

In 2007, Bungie revolutionised the Halo franchise with its addition of the original Forge feature to Halo 3. An instant fan favourite, Forge allowed players to modify or build maps for multiplayer games, unleashing the creative power of a millions-strong fan base. However, earlier today 343 Industries seems to be throwing us Halo fans another curve-ball by allowing players to develop Forge maps for Halo 5 Guardians on the PC through Microsoft Windows 10.

What to expect?

The first thing to note is that Halo 5 Guardians is still a Xbox One exclusive title. Secondly, the app will be free, and available only to Windows 10 users. Marketed as Forge – Halo [...]

Homefront: The Revolution ‘Closed Beta’ First Impressions

There is one word that describes Homefront: The Revolution’s beta perfectly, janky. The graphics harken back to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the framerate is jerky at the best of times, and the collision detection is just pathetic. To put it bluntly, this game in its current state would have only just passed as triple-A on last-gen consoles. Now, you may say “beta is beta”, but frankly, even for a ‘closed’ beta this lacks polish. It is rough, and that makes it hard to play.

However, that does not mean it is not fun. The game has some interesting ideas and mechanics. I like the squad based interactions, the stealth aspects, the hacking enemy vehicles, and I even like the [...]

Bioware’s Mass Effect Andromeda could learn a lot from The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

I have played a lot of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt RED were not kidding around when they dangled 200+ hours of gameplay before my eyes. I am a feverish completionist when it comes to roleplaying games (RPGs), and I can say without pause that through my adventures in Witcher 3, I was not bored once. The only other RPG franchise that has held my attention continuously for this long was the ‘original’ Mass Effect trilogy.

With that thought, I simply had to write this piece. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been fabulous for gaming. It has perfected the concept The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim proved (that of a sprawling open world), it has [...]

The frontman presented within, “Kool” Terry Terman offers the exact amount of cheese necessary to make even the most mundane of features sound RAD. This is a must watch if you are looking forward to the release of Rock Band 4 in October

Rock Band 4 will be playable at EGX (Eurogamer Xpo 2015) where [...]

Welcome to the World of Yakuza 5, Developer Interview Part One

Fans of the Yakuza series spoke loud and clear a few years back at E3 2013. Gio Corsi, Director of Third Party Production at Sony Computer Entertainment, asked for the games they most wanted to see in the West. Yakuza 5 was at the top of the list and, after much denial and backpedaling, the dream is alive and well with a localized release of Yakuza 5 on PS3. Gio sat down with Yakuza series general director Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Masayoshi Yokoyama for the first of a 3 part interview series regarding the game, its five cities, multiple protagonists and more.

Corsi starts off with the origins of the concept and just what drove the two to craft the series. The games, [...]

Halo 5: Guardians is a big deal. That is of no surprise to anyone. We’ve had a multiplayer beta, ahead of the October 27th release date, that whet the appetite of many a shooter fan but what of the game itself? Thanks to Game Informer per their July issue a whole slew of images and information have come to light about 343 Industries’ latest entry into the Microsoft flagship franchise.

Right off the bat the cover alone reveals a big detail about the game. It looks like Master Chief won’t be flying solo this time but, instead, be accompanied by Blue Team. If you’re one of those Halo fanatics who even went so far as to dive into the expanded [...]

Fallout 4 Official Trailer Released

Years of speculation have come to an end as Bethesda has finally revealed the trailer for the next installment in the Fallout Universe; Fallout 4. The post-apocalyptic RPG will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One though no official release date has been confirmed as of yet. It is likely to be a 2016 release though it won’t be long before we know more as Bethesda’s E3 Showcase takes place on June 14th.

Fallout 4 is set in Commonwealth, a fictional version of Boston. Commonwealth is, much like previous Fallout titles, a desolate wasteland. One thing to note from the trailer is that it seems Fallout 4  boasts a much more populated world than seen prior. The [...]
