Let’s Talk Xbox: Halo 5: Guardians February Season, Titanfall 2 News and More

In case you haven’t been on your console in the last few of days, here is some Xbox news for your eyeballs.

Last week I covered Halo 5: Guardians‘ latest update Infinity’s Armor. The update brought new REQs, two new multiplayer maps (Riptide for Arena and Urban for Warzone Assault), and the return of the Halo 2 Battle Rifle. I only got queued once for Urban, so can’t comment on how good it is, but I’ve played a lot of Riptide which was a surprisingly good remix of Fathom and lots of fun on Swat. If these remixes are anything to go by, I am willing to withdraw some of my earlier pessimism about 343i’s approach to multiplayer [...]

Our Nation’s Review of Telltale’s Game of Thrones Episode 3 – “Sword in the Darkness”

Developer: Telltale Games Publisher: Telltale Games Platforms: PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS and Android Release Date: March 25th Price: $4.99 Played On: Xbox One

The publisher provided a copy of this episode for the purposes of this review.

There Are No Winners Here

We continue to roll on in the developing saga of House Forrester. The past two episodes saw us dealing with deaths in the family, a once proud house made to suffer the indignity of occupation and the politicking in King’s Landing taking near fatal turns. The multi-character perspective that the plot takes on has worked well up to this point as it has, as well as Telltale can, [...]

Our Nation’s Review of Mortal Kombat X

Developer: NetherRealm Studios Publisher: Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, Android Release Date: April 7th (iOS/Android), April 16th (PS4, Xbox One, PC) and possibly June 2nd (Xbox 360, PS3) Price: $59.99

Mortal Kombat is a series known for its brutality. The bloody fighter staked its claim in the landscape of video game history by willingly displaying violence at an extreme level that other popular titles like Street Fighter simply weren’t doing. Every subsequent release stacked the deck further with more modes, more gore and more of everything. It was, let’s face it, a bloated mess by the time NetherRealm [...]

I try to avoid spoilers where direct analysis of the story is concerned but, be warned, some names and events mentioned could be considered mildly spoilerish. Tough to not talk about plot points in a story-driven game, folks! A review copy of this episode was provided for the purposes of this article.

The Sadness of House Forrester

The decidedly George R.R. Martin twist at the end of Episode 1 showed that TellTale wanted to bring the thunder in regards to emulating the feel of [...]

Two Expansions Announced for The Witcher 3

CD Projeckt announced this afternoon two new expansions for the upcoming sequel to their flagship series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

“With the development of Wild Hunt coming to an end, the team has embarked upon the creation of two new really big adventures set in The Witcher universe,” says Marcin Iwiński, CD PROJEKT RED co-founder. “We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we’d like to bring that back. We’ve said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone [...]

She awakens inside a dank and poorly lit prison cell. A few moments to collect her wits and she’s up on her feet. It isn’t long before she can hear Moira calling out to her. Barry’s daughter is a good kid even if she desperately needs a filter between her mouth and her brain. If this was the first time she’d be taken against her will and held captive she might [...]
