Over on the PlayStation Blog, Andy Tudor Creative Director for Slightly Mad Studios revealed new screenshots of the upcoming PS4 game Project CARS.
Project CARS will be one of the first games to support Project Morpheus, the VR headset being created by Sony.
“You’re going to really feel what it’s like sitting in the driving seat of a high performance machine as you look around the cockpit, glance left and right as you overtake an opponent, and get an exhilarating sense of speed as you scream down the finishing straight,” says Tudor.
The game was first conceived back in October 2011 and features a combination of intuitive designs from various titles such as Need for Speed and Test Drive.
Project CARS has been in development for some time due to the feedback Slightly Mad Studios has been obtaining from gamers such as you and I. The game is really player focused and the studio wants to provide a game that combines intuitive gameplay with a whole new racing experience.
Tudor further explains, “We wanted the core driving experience to be the most authentic on the planet, and we wanted to provide you with all the features you need to recreate a race weekend as it happens in real life — complete with a dynamic time of day and a weather system that not only looks beautiful but challenges your skills and provides strategic opportunities.”
This is bold. Very, very bold. With the new technology Sony’s PS4 brings to developers, it might have been exactly what Slightly Mad Studios needed to make the game a reality, no pun intended Project Morpheus!
Will the bold intuitive design sing or swim? Only time will tell, but let us know your thoughts!
