Next week on May 6, Borderlands 2 will be ported to the Vita with some slight modifications. Multiplayer will be restricted to two player games, as opposed to the four player online that was such an important selling point to the console versions of the game.
However, cross-save compatibility means that players that own Borderlands 2 on the PS3 and the PS Vita will be able to transfer their data between their console and handheld versions of the game.
In an effort to win over gamers who have been on the fence about getting their own PS Vita and loved the Borderlands franchise on their home console, or have just been wanting to try the blockbuster sequel, Sony will release the Borderlands PS Vita Bundle which sports the new, slimmer PS Vita.
The bundle will also include several DLCs for the game, including Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty and Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage. In addition to the standard four character classes, DLC characters Gaige the Mechromancer and Krieg the Psycho are available for use.
This is sure to boost the sales of the Vita, which has been trailing behind the Nintendo 3DS its entire run.
