Just this morning, Halo 5: Guardians was announced by 343 Industries and Microsoft. Now, the first piece of concept art has been revealed.
What appears to be a desolate base in the canyons of a planet, a lone stranger walks in the sand dunes towards the installation.
Who exactly is the black shadowed figure? Is it Master Chief?
Unfortunately, all you can see is a small silhouette but it looks like a human figure more than a Spartan.
In addition, Frank O’Connor Franchise Development Director for 343 Industries made some serious statements relating to the future of the series today on the Halo Waypoint Blog, “Previous Halo titles, Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 for example, strove to push the entire ecosystem forward – dual stick FPS with big open spaces in the case of Combat Evolved, and broadband matchmaking in Halo 2 – are just a couple of examples of the series innovating or amplifying ideas. So in building Halo 5: Guardians, we want to push the ecosystem as well as the universe. And we’ll have some surprises in store for new and loyal players of the series.”
I have been an avid Halo fan since day one. Combat Evolved brought many, many LAN parties into my living room where we had a huge set-up just for multiplayer going for hours!
I’m excited to see where 343 Industries takes the Halo franchise starting with Halo 5.
What exactly will the new gameplay ecosystem be? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
Look for more information to be revealed at E3 in early June!
