With the upcoming release of patches 2.28 and 2.3 for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix has given a detailed list of what to expect. Director Naoki Yoshida has also revealed a sketch of in-game wedding attire.
Online weddings have been around long before MMOs. Some strong relationships are built while playing MMOs, and sometimes miles separate players in real life. In-game weddings gives those couples the opportunity to celebrate virtual or real-life unions in game. While getting married in a virtual world may seem strange to some, gamers hardly bat an eye at the idea.
While some games don’t offer a official in-game marriage system, gamers have created their own ceremonies for weddings. Those with marriage systems in place sometimes make players take part in quests or pay a huge fee to get married. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn hasn’t release any details on how it’s marriage system will work, but we can expect it to involve special quests and exclusive items. Everyone loves quests.
The patches will also include the following quality of life updates:
Adjustments to the behavior of pets while jumping.
New objectives will be added to the Challenge Log.
New filtering and sorting options for the Expert Delivery user interface.
Adjustments to PvP in the Wolves’ Den.
The ability to register for Good King Moggle Mog XII (Extreme) and Leviathan (Extreme) via the Duty Finder.
The Echo will be applied to pets.
Filtering options added to the Crafting Log.
The ability to display the map from the Gathering Log.
Durability will increase to 199% when repairing with a Disciple of the Hand class.
Adjustments to the party finder.
FATE progress will be displayed on the map.
Teleporting via the Aetheryte icon on the map.
Addition of text commands to clear the chat log.
A list of text commands will be added.
The ability to dismount via controller by pressing L1+R1 (LB+RB) at the same time.
With the release of patch 2.28, players will also be able to purchase Fantasia vials. In Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Fantasia vials let players change the race, gender and appearance of their characters once. Fantasia vials were given out once after your first monthly subscription payment, and players have been begging for more since. It’s great when someone listens to the players isn’t it?
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn out now on PC, PS3 and PS4.
