Big Game In The Big Apple: ESL Brings Dota 2 Tournament to Madison Square Garden

Are you ready for the biggest eSports event east of the Mississippi? You won’t have to wait much longer! ESL, Twitch and ReedPOP are coming together to bring big gaming to the Big Apple. We’re are just months away from ESL’s groundbreaking Dota 2 tournament taking place at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden. Being held in The Theater at MSG this October 9th and 10th, ESL will be hosing the world’s finest Dota 2 teams in what looks to be the eSporting event of the year. Thousands of video game enthusiasts will be in attendance as the world watches eSports at it’s finest and the highest level of Dota 2 competition on the planet. 

“By staging this event at the iconic Madison Square Garden, we’re going to see history in the making,” said James Lampkin, Product Manager for ESL One. “ReedPOP, Twitch and ESL are coming together to create something special that New York City has never seen before.”

In a partnership with Twitch, the event will also be broadcast via ESL’s Twitch channel, bringing this event to the masses. The team from joinDOTA will also be in attendance to provide color commentary of the broadcast, offering further insight into the world of competitive gaming and Dota 2. This tournament is just one piece of the larger New York Super Week, a 10-day series of events that includes all things nerdy and geeky leading up to New York Comic-Con.

This is a keystone event in a week filled with amazing programming and will set the bar for future events.”
