Listening to a veritable ocean of feedback gleaned from its legion of adoring fans on their Xbox Feedback forum, today Microsoft rolled out an update to the Xbox One that brings a host of new features to the next-gen gaming console. Gamers will have a lot to look forward to when they next boot up their system of choice, so in the mean time, why don’t we breakdown the update and give you all just a small taste of what awaits you in your next gaming venture.54cd95e951c9d1f728fae1b376327755

  • Mobile Purchases: You will now be able to buy applications and DLC through Xbox.com and have them download to your Xbox without ever having to touch the console. However, in order to make use of this wonderful new feature, you will have to configure your console to automatically download updates via the internet.

  • Activity Feed Update: Gamers will now have more options then ever before to enable them to share their gaming experience with their friends. Starting today you will be able to post text to your feed, like other people’s posted items, and even upload video that your friends will be able to watch and comment on for themselves. You will also receive notifications when someone likes or comments on your post or content.

  • Low Battery Notification: Your Xbox will not alert you as to when your controller’s battery is low on power and needs to be recharge.

  • Disable Notifications During Video: You can now turn off popup messages during video playback, allowing users to watch a movie or video in peace without having the experience ruined by intrusive notifications.

  • 3D Blu-Ray: You can now watch 3D Blu-Ray movies on your Xbox, WOOOOOOO!

  • Finally, you will also be able to see when your friends were last using their Xbox and what they were doing during that time as well.

Best of all, you’ll be able to download this update and enjoy all of the exciting prospects it brings to your gaming experience right now! So go forth, enjoy, but don’t forget to follow us on Twitter at @APGNation for more gaming news and reviews!

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
