Dan Ayoub, Studio Head of Halo External development announced this morning that the studios upcoming HALO title, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available for pre-order and pre-download later today. Ayoub described in this early morning announcement that the Halo team has hit a milestone for the franchise’s next installment, however questions had remained regarding the wide world release date. Ayoub also noted on this topic that simultaneous launches in several different retail markets can pose a challenge for the company, and that several fans were disappointed in the North American release date of November 11th and other territories, November 14th.
Ayoub confirmed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be released worldwide on November 11th, giving the majority of their fans access to the game simultaneously. Europe, Belgium will have its release date of November 12th, France on the 14th, and Japan on the 13th.
The collection will feature four Halo titles, every released multiplayer map(DLC from Console and PC!), and a complete remaster of Halo 2, arguably the best in the series. Ayoub states “From the start, our philosophy has been to give Halo fans the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection. The result is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray (45 GB), and we will also issue a content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB.”
