A Look at The Carrack, The Latest Star Citizen Concept Sale

Star Citizen Concept Sale

Side view of the final Carrack Concept.

Star Citizen has recently launched their latest concept sale: the Carrack, a ship purely devoted to exploration. Roberts Space Industries puts the ship up for sale for the first time with only concept art and some specifics nailed down, but with no in-game model to preview. Buyers who act during the concept sale will get special advantages: lifetime insurance, some hangar goodies, and an initial lower price. Here is a quick overview of what the Carrack brings to the table:

The Carrack is a multi crew (five person max) dedicated exploration vessel capable of navigating unmapped jump points and landing on planets. It has a Mako-like Rover vehicle for driving around and exploring the surface of unexplored planets. It is likely to feature advanced science packages and scanning equipment for gathering detailed data on any new star systems to be discovered. Unfortunately, the Carrack has no cargo transport capability.

Boldly go: the Anvil Carrack has been the vanguard of every UEEexploration effort in recent years. Featuring reinforced fuel tanks for long-duration flight, a highly advanced jump drive array and a dedicated computer core room that allows it to put the maximum processing power into jump charting operations. Originally a military exclusive, the Carrack is now available for civilian use as a pathfinder spacecraft. The ship features on-board accommodations to allow for truly self-sufficient flight, including crew medical and repair facilities, and a mapping-oriented sensor suite capable of always charting a route home!
