If you’re a fan of anime and a Wii-U owner, it might be your lucky day. The Crunchyroll app is coming to the Wii-U today and will provide thousands of anime shows to Wii-U users that sign up for a membership on the application.
Many popular anime are available with the service — Naruto, Bleach and One Piece to name a few. New users can sign up for a 14 day trial, but will be asked to pay a monthly fee from $6.95 to $11.95 depending on the package they opt for. There is also a free service, but free users will not have access to the full library, or be allowed to stream in HD — they will also be subjected to ads. The $6.95 package is the same, but includes HD-streaming, and the $11.95, will include their full library, HD-streaming and have no ads.
Because the only plan without ads is considerably more expensive than Netflix’s own $8.99 price tag — it’s rather unclear if consumers will find this service of value, but anime fans just might.
