Dedicated Fan Fuses Xbox One and PS4 Into Playbox

Just a bit of fun news for you guys via neowin.com: one dedicated modder named Ed Zarik has realized the longstanding dream of gamers everywhere by rigging together a device capable of playing both Xbox One and Playstation 4 games known as the Playbox. The entire rig, Zarik says, is one of his more expensive creations. It consists of a monitor and a large box containing the hardware necessary to play games native to both systems.  Use of both consoles’ HDMI cables is also possible, though the USB connection slots on the Xbox are inaccessible due to the machine’s casing.

For a better look at this dream of a machine, check out the video below:

As you can see, it took some real ingenuity to put together a rig like this, and really goes to show just how resourceful gamers can be when they want to go out of their way to make something cool. My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.
