Devil Survivor 2 : Record Breaker SpotPass and StreetPass Details

Like Devil Summoner 2: Soul Hackers before it, Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker will feature both SpotPass and StreetPass capabilities that will give you an edge in your battle against evil. While the full details on both features are a bit vague at the moment, but we can give you a small taste of what you can expect come May 5th when Record Breaker hits North American shelves.

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker

SpotPass will allow would be Demon tamers to download exclusive demons straight from Atlus that you will then be able to fuse in-game. Among the legendary figures ready and willing to visit via the internet are the delightfully goofy Lucifer Frost (a fusion of series’ mascot Jack Frost and the Prince of Darkness himself) and Catoblepas, a camel-like creature who’s one eye can turn anyone whom it gazes upon into stone. In addition to these extra fiends, players will also be able to add skills to their pool just by using SpotPass. Normally you’d have to crack the seals on these skills by defeating monsters, so the chance to get them for free is a  pretty good deal.

On the flip side of things, by making use of StreetPass with other Demon Tamers you will be able to gain valuable stat points and skill bonuses that can then be used to power up your demon allies.  These both may seem like a small bonus, but remember you’ll get them from just walking around with your 3DS in your pocket, so the difference between winning and losing a battle might mean remembering to go for a walk.

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker hits stores on May 5th. And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, @APGNation, for more gaming news and reviews.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
