Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 Comes To The 3DS And Vita

This summer Tecmo Koei is bringing the hit Samurai Warriors franchise to handhelds for the first time since 2011. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the series, Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 brings together elements from across the franchise’s storied history to create a single impressive package for both veterans and newcomers alike. Drawing upon such features as Samurai Warriors 4‘s deep Customization Mode and skill testing Challenge Mode, in which players speed and skills will be put to the test as they wade through a sea of thousands of enemies in a race against the clock,  Samurai Warriors Chronicles  3 provides a complete package that spans the best of ten years worth of Samurai Warriors titles.

Gamers will be able to choose from not only characters inspired by legendary figures of Japanese history and myth, but also custom characters of their own creation. But whether you are playing as a larger than life hero or your own creation, players will be faced with battles that can play out in different ways depending on your tactics depending on your choices, actions, and more. These can lead to different endings and outcomes in battle and lead to multiple endings as well, lending replayability to an already expansive game.

In classic Warriors fashion, you will battle your way through hordes of soldiers, accomplish mission objectives, and battle it out with some of history’s greatest combatants. As you do, you’ll be able to take advantage of both the 3DS touch screen and the Vita’s touchpad to control your army and plot battle tactics that best take advantage of the situation at hand. Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 will also feature Spot Pass capabilities on the 3DS as well.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 arrives in Europe on June 26th, while a US release date has yet to be announced. One would imagine that a North American release will hover around that timeframe.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
