E3 2015: Microsoft Reveals Recore for 2016

Microsoft Studios has revealed a new game called Recore, coming exclusively to the Xbox One. Partnering with devlopers such as Keiji Inafune and Armature Studios, Microsoft plans to release the new game in spring of 2016. In the world premiere shown at the Microsoft Press Conference earlier today, the game seems to take place in some form of a post-apocalyptic future.

The game largely centers on the use of cores that seem to house artificial intelligence that can be applied to a number of robotic beings. In the trailer, an unnamed female wanders through a desert with a robotic dog with a blue core. As they come across a broken down robot, they’re ambushed by a number of other robotic spider beings with red cores. After defeating the beings, the unnamed character uses the core from the robotic dog that self-destructed to power up the broken down robot.

From what was shown in the trailer, players will likely be able to reprogram these artificial intelligence cores to assist them rather than attempt to hunt them down. More information will be likely be available on the new title in the near future.
