Go from Boxing Chump To Champ In Punch Club

Punch Club, styled after the Tycoon games of the ’80s and ’90s, comes from Russian indie developer Lazy Bear Games and it puts players in the shoes of an aspiring boxer who must punch his way to the truth behind his father’s murder. Punch Club features heavy sim elements, such as controlling your character’s daily schedule from how he trains to what he eats, mixed with visual novel-style storytelling to create an engaging whole as you try to climb the ranks of the boxing world and become champion. You might even punch a crocodile along the way!

For those of you who can’t wait to dive into the seedy world of the boxing underground, the folks as tinyBuild have put together a demo for the game that you can find right here. For even more bone cracking goodness, you’ll be able to pick up Punch Club when it drops on Steam and mobile platforms this fall.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
