Techland Announces Dying Light: The Following Expansion

Techland announced that their zombie survival game Dying Light will receive an expansion pack titled The Following. Details of the expansion first surfaced at the end of a recent trailer celebrating the game’s six-month anniversary, which showcased a brief segment of the protagonist fighting zombies from the back of a dirt buggy. According to the developers at Techland, The Following will feature a great deal of both new gameplay and story content.

“For Dying Light: The Following we’re adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion. Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor. The new map alone is the same size as all the previous maps from Dying Light combined, so there is a lot we’re packing in here.

We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we’ve created here. Hopefully people will see that this new expansion is first and foremost, for the fans.”  — Tymon Smektala, Producer

The Following will be available both as a stand alone expansion, and as free DLC content to all Season Pass holders. Further details concerning the expansion will be revealed behind closed doors at the upcoming Gamescom video game expo, with a public announcement expected after.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
