Overwatch Arrives Spring 2016, Pre-Orders Open Now

Blizzard today, announced that their new 6v6 First-Person Shooter Overwatch will launch in the spring of 2016. Preorders for the game are now open at www.buyoverwatch.com. Where players will receive a unique skin for the character Widowmaker for doing so.

Overwatch is 6v6 shooter set in a futuristic world where 21 diverse heroes do battle with their unique powers and weapons. Players can switch between heroes, leading to strategic combat as they try and find the perfect character, or combination of characters, to take care of any given situation. According to Blizzard, Overwatch’s gameplay will be intense and action packed.

“We’re building Overwatch to be the first-person shooter we’ve always wanted to play, with a vibrant world, awesome heroes, and an emphasis on tightly focused cooperative gameplay,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited to welcome console and PC gamers to the fight for the future, and we can’t wait to see all the incredible things teams are able to accomplish on the battlefield this upcoming spring.”

In other Overwatch news, a host of new content for the game was revealed at BlizzCon, the yearly convention celebrating all things Blizzard. Among the reveals were a new map, Hollywood, as well  Overwatch’s final three heroes, Genji, a cybernetic ninja, D.Va, a former pro-gamer turned mecha pilot, and Mei, a scientist with ice-based powers.
