After your done gorging yourself on all the good food and family togetherness you can stand this Thanksgiving, then sit down with us and take a look at some of the best deals in Black Friday gaming.

Nintendo (Via the E-shop, ends December 2ed)

Highlights from Nintendo’s holiday sale include The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD for $34.99 and Fire Emblem Awakening for $27.99.

Sony (Via the PSN)

Sony is running their usual discounts this week alongside a unique sale on multiplayer games, with the likes of Dragon’s Crown, Resident Evil Revelations and Rayman Legends leading the pack coming into this holiday shopping season. Also running at the same time is a sale on games by developer Arc System Works, which runs through the end of the year, that sees such titles as BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend at the lowest prices I’ve ever seen them.

Steam

Everything is on sale, it seems, in this endless sea of PC games, so I’ll just pick a few highlights and let you guys comb through the rest.

The Fruits of Grisaia (Normally $39.99, now marked down to $19.99)

One of the better visual novel franchises to arise in recent years, Grisaia plants the reader in the shoes in a mysterious young named Yuji who attends classes at a school with exactly six students. Despite the usual visual novel plot described previously, though there is quite a bit of fun to be hard here as well, Grisaia is a dark and often disturbing story that goes well beyond what would expect of the medium. Highly recommended for visual novel fans.

Also on sale is Grisaia’s light hearted spin-off, Magical Girl Chiru Chiru Michiru, which is also quite good.

Shovel Knight (Normally $14.99, marked down to $10.04.)

Get retro with this platformer styled after the games of yesteryear! Armed only with a shovel and his trusty armor, Shovel Knight must traverse over ten huge levels to rescue his girlfriend Shield Knight from the clutches of the evil Enchantress in a quest inspired by such classic titles as Mario, Zelda, and Castlevania. Fun, unpretentious, and just plain great, Shovel Knight is good pick-up for anyone looking for a very solid and playable game.

Neptunia series (and other Idea Factory games) sale

These niche games about cute girls who are also cute gaming consoles are seeing a massive discount this week. So if your a fan, or at all interested in Neptunia as a whole, this is likely the best time to buy in. Also on sale is the awesome Otome game Amnesia, and other IF offerings such as Fairy Fencer F and Mugen Souls.

That about wraps up this year’s Black Friday round up. Join us next week when I’ll tackle even more sales unrelated to the darkest time of the year.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels.
When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
