Elite Dangerous: Horizons Coming Soon

The world of Elite Dangerous gets a lot bigger this holiday season with the Horizons expansion pack, launching on December 15th. This expanded version of the game will feature a host of new features, including new ships, missions, a CQC (Close Quarter Combat) Arena, and the ability to land on a planet’s surface and explore in search of new resources and adventures. Horizons will also feature a host of other improvements and expanded content including:

  • Loot and Crafting, unlocking a world of customization options and adding new value and meaning to every action.
  • Multicrew, allowing teams of players to assume roles aboard the same ship.
  • Commander Creation, giving a unique appearance to players’ in-game avatars.
  • Ship-Launched Fighters, allowing larger spacecraft to carry their own short-range fighter ships for attack and defense.

Those who haven’t yet decided if they want to upgrade to Horizons just yet won’t be left out in the cold this holiday season. As the developers of the game have promised to continue supporting the vanilla version of Elite Dangerous, and to keep players of both games in the same galaxy.

Elite Dangerous: Horizons is available for pre-order now on Steam and via Frontierstore.net.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
