Halo 5: Guardians is looking to cater to eSports by introducing a spectator mode.

Starting with the multiplayer beta that goes live at the end of December, players will be able to spectate matches on Halo 5. 343 Industries spokesman Josh Holmes stated in a talk with IGN: “When you think about Halo, it’s such a tailor-made experience for eSports, especially with that competitive edge, getting back to the level playing field and everything.” Halo is now looking to get more competitive with other shooters and will be accessible with built-in Twitch streaming through the Halo Channel.

Top 5 Xbox One Games to Get This Holiday

The holidays are here whether you like it or not! Actually scratch that — we’re hoping you’ll like it, because it’s one of the best times of the year for deals on video games. Sales on all the best selling-games of the year are cropping up like crazy. However, the question remains: what are the top games to get this holiday? Well, APGNation has the answers for you in regards to the Xbox One.

Sunset Overdrive

This game is quite possibly the biggest surprise hit for Xbox One. The fluid movement, the humor, and the plethora of things to do around the world sold me about 3 hours into the game. I had a ton of flat-out fun playing this game and in a market [...]

Net Neutrality In Gaming — What It Means for Gamers

(Note: It is extremely difficult to leave politics out of an issue such as Net Neutrality. A strong effort was made to keep this topic as apolitical as possible.)

Christmas time is fast approaching. It’s time to get all of those Christmas cards together and ready to ship. However, this year shipping works a little differently. When you get to the post office, you notice a guy in front of you getting ready to ship a large package. This is nothing strange — it happens all the time. You overhear the cost to ship and the delivery estimation, which is longer than what it would take for your cards. Still, this is nothing strange. The strange thing happens when it is your turn [...]

Games Can Help Treat Parkinson’s Disease

Over six million people suffer from the neurodegenerative disease called Parkinson’s Disease, the symptoms of which include joints and muscles becoming stiff and rigid. Exercise can be used to treat these symptoms, but the repetition of these exercises leads to boredom which can lead to a lack of adherence to the exercises. New computer games are making these exercises more exciting and easier to adhere to.

Research done at Lancaster University combines the Nintendo Wii with programs designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease. The goal was to take the exercises done by Parkinson’s patients and combine that with the motion sensors of the Wii. For example, a [...]

First Impressions: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Another year and another Call of Duty is here for 12-year-olds to rage on. Another year for countless cursing for that quick-scoping that always seems to happen… all the time. However, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is different in a lot of fantastic ways.

I’ve had some time to get in some campaign play and some multiplayer matches. Before APGNation gets to a proper review I thought some first impressions could help some people if they were on the fence about a new Call of Duty game. Let’s be honest, Call of Duty was getting extremely stale and people have a right to be skeptical of a new title bearing the name “Call of Duty.” However, I do have [...]

No Apologies Needed From 343 Industries – Halo’s: MCC “Large Download”

We live in an age where everything can be accessed at the click of a button. Going to the local Best Buy or Gamestop is quickly becoming a thing of the past. The only thing that is getting in the way of an “all-digital” future is the capacity of our hard drives.

With the current generation of consoles, people are given 500 GB (or 1 Terabyte for some special editions) to use for games, DLC, apps or whatever the user wants. However, now that more games are coming out, people are quickly starting to see their hard drives fill up quite quickly. This is what is forcing 343 Industries to apologize for the size of “Halo: The Master Chief [...]
