Street Fighter V Review

Game: Street Fighter V Developer: Capcom, Dimps Publisher: Capcom Platforms: PC/PlayStation 4 Price: $59.99 Reviewed On: PlayStation 4

A code was provided by the publisher for this review.

There was a dark time in the landscape of fighting games. The genre was stagnant for what felt like ages before Capcom unleashed Street Fighter IV onto the scene. The home console release back in 2009 was equivalent to Third Impact, honestly. It was a mega-ton that bombarded the entire FGC (Fighting Game Community) and got people to pay attention to a genre of games that was, frankly, not great at the time. It is no secret that Street Fighter is the fighting game. Few other names [...]

Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster Review

DEVELOPER: Capcom PUBLISHER: Capcom PLATFORMS: PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 PRICE: $19.99 RELEASE DATE: January 19th, 2016

The publisher provided a review code for this review.

The events of Resident Evil Zero take place a mere 24 hours before the infamous Spencer Mansion incident (Resident Evil) and introduce the classic survival formula with a twist. S.T.A.R.S. member, Rebecca Chambers, and her other teammates make an emergency landing in the woods nearby only to discover an overturned military police vehicle. Bodies are strewn about along with evidence indicating that convicted felon, Billy Coen, is lurking around. The group splits up to cover more ground and [...]

Karin Revealed as the Next World Warrior in Street Fighter V

Capcom, in typical fashion, kept us waiting (well those not in the JPT time zone anyway), until the wee hours of the morning to make their latest character reveal for Street Fighter V. One might speculate that this would be a returning character considering the last reveal of Rashid at Games15 in Dubai. Well, for all the Alpha 3 fans out there who weren’t sated with the mere morsel of Rainbow Mika the venerable Street Fighter series producer Yoshinori Ono-san took to the Tokyo Game Show main stage. Your next World Warrior? Karin Kanzuki.

First impressions? All the glorious rekkas, command grabs, one-inch punch (!) and possibly a projectile counter? [...]

Everything We Know About Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps

Shown at this years Tokyo Game Show just today, a new Biohazard title named Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps was revealed, along with a shiny trailer to advertise the new PS4 title. The trademark for the game was filed for back in July of this year, by Capcom with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) for a computer software title of the same name.

Now, speculation can be put to rest. For the 20th anniversary of the Biohazard (Resident Evil) series, Umbrella Corps looks to be very similar to the somewhat unsuccessful Operation Raccoon City. Once more, players seem to be working for Umbrella Security Forces — struggling to contain a B.O.W. threat — as [...]

R. Mika Tags Into Street Fighter 5

Capcom announced earlier today that fan-favorite character Rainbow Mika (aka R. Mika) would be joining the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter 5. R. Mika first joined the franchise’s expansive roster of world warriors in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and brings to the game her unique pro wrestling fighting style and flamboyant personality, here employed with Mika’s ability to appeal to her ringside fans for a temporary increase the power of her special attacks.

In Street Fighter 5, Mika is joined by her tag-team partner Nadeshiko, who can be called into the heat of combat by using the game’s new V-Trigger system. By manipulating both Mika and Nadeshiko the player [...]

Developer: Capcom/Other Ocean Interactive Publisher: Sony Platform: PlayStation 4 Price: $25.00 Release Date: May 26th, 2015

A review copy was provided for the purposes of this article.

Ultra Street Fighter IV is one of the many iterations that has come along for Street Fighter IV. It, as with any other fighting game expansion, it brought with it new characters, costumes, balance changes and the like. There is no denying that the longevity of the game in the competitive scene is a testament to the quality of the core product. When it comes to fighting games there are few names as synonymous with the genre as Capcom’s long-running Street Fighter franchise. The [...]
