Highlights from Nintendo’s holiday sale include The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD for $34.99 and Fire Emblem Awakening for $27.99.
Sony (Via the PSN)
Sony is running their usual discounts this week alongside a unique sale on multiplayer games, with the likes of Dragon’s Crown, Resident Evil Revelations and Rayman Legends leading the pack coming into this holiday shopping season. Also running at the same [...]
As we approach the holiday season, it is more than likely then many among our gaming family here in the APGNation are feeling a bit light in the wallet as of late. But even for those of us with a tight budget, that shouldn’t mean that we can’t pick up a few games on the cheap to guide us through the end of the year.
First up we have Persona 4 Golden. The updated Vita port of the excellent 2008 urban fantasy RPG of the same name, Persona 4 Golden weaves a story of murder, self-discovery, and obscure religious and mythological references that combine to make it perhaps one of the best RPGs of all time. While the original version of the game is available for [...]
This week on Gaming on a Budget we have a fun little mixture of old and new titles. One of my personal favourites is on sale once more, and I’m going to suggest it yet again.
Aliens vs. Predator 2010 puts you in the unique position of all three species. Xenomorph, Predator, and Human. They each have unique abilities that compliment each other. Will you become the hunter, or the hunted? Grow from a lowly facehugger into a powerful killing machine, or face off against thousands of said killing machines with just a pistol and a shotgun. Not enough for you? Stalk your prey, with tools designed for several different species as you remove their heads and claim them as [...]
Nicole here, filling in for this column’s usual host due to computer-related troubles, bringing you the week’s best deals this edition of Gaming on a Budget.
Playstation 3 and Vita owners can pick up both the gruesome horror visual novel game Corpse Party and is its sequel Corpse Party: Book of Shadows for $10.00 each, fifty percent less than their normal asking price. Both titles are known for being a bloody, creepy, and not at all for the faint of heart. But if you’re looking for a little bit of horror or a lot, as the case maybe, you could do far worse than to give either of these games a chance. It doesn’t hurt the third game in the series, [...]
Some fantastic games available this week. Frictional Studios were giving away Amnesia: The Dark Descent for free on Steam until Wednesday. Luckily, their other titles were also on sale. We included some in this week’s Gaming on a Budget, along with a fantastic sci-fi title that’s been making waves.
Set in a world, not unlike our own, Technobabylon explores a reality where the Internet has evolved. A.I. has gone berserk, and genetic engineering is simply a run of the mill occurrence. Charles Regis and his partner are called in by CEL to investigate an odd murder case. The man being of some status appears to have been killed by someone close to him. Something’s [...]
This week on Gaming on a Budget, it’s an all PC edition as there are some great sales going about, both on the Humble Store and all over the net. Among the numerous deals out there are two of my personal favorite shooters of all time, and a little bit of horror here and there. We hope you enjoy!
The Humble Store is currently having a sale on the entire Red Faction series though the first two are the only ones worth your time. Red Faction tells the story of Earth; minerals depleted to dangerous levels and humanity looking out into the solar system for escape. The colonization of Mars has begun but a mysterious plague is sweeping among the workers of the red planet [...]
This week on Gaming on a Budget, the main focus is PC, and why not? We often neglect the glorious PC master race in favour of sales on PSN, or Xbox Live. Time to even the score slightly.
This first game is one that’s well known in the indie scene. Hot off the success of Bastion came a game featuring a fiery redhead who has had her voice stolen, Transistor. The songstress extracts a sword nearly two times her size from a man’s chest though the question remains. Is that man dead or not? The answers to this question and more await you in Transistor. It seamlessly blends real-time combat and roleplaying elements while utilizing something akin to the Final [...]
This week it is Sonic’s Birthday, and while he’s not been the most popular of game characters in recent times, there’s still some life left in him. PSN is having both a Sonic and a 2K sale. We hope you enjoy this week’s picks for Gaming on a Budget.
The first game this week portrayed a different side of military combat, showcasing the effects of war, on both a psychological level and an economic one. Spec Ops: The Line tells the story of Delta force, sent into a bad situation from the very get go. Dubai is in ruins, thousands have been murdered and their job is to find and help as many survivors as they can. Is that their only reason for being [...]
This week on Gaming on a Budget we take a look at PSN’s celebratory E3 Sale and we have some real goodies for you all.
The game that started it all and brought integrity back to Bruce Wayne’s name, just when we all thought the franchise was dead. Featuring the original voices of Mark Hamill as the Joker and Batman as Kevin Conroy, you can’t go wrong! Batman is bringing the Joker into Arkham Asylum which has undergone a security upgrade, but something’s wrong. Joker seems too pleased to be back home. The Asylum’s been taken over by madmen and only Batman can stop them. With all his gadgets and upgrades, Batman: Arkham Asylum is easily one [...]
This week on Gaming on a Budget, we have some lesser known titles that received mixed reviews upon release. While they may or may not have been well-received, they still provided a unique set of experiences I’ve yet to find anywhere else. I hope our readers agree.
Our first game this week is the first in a series that sadly, will probably not get an ending. With the fall of THQ, Crytek now owns the IP, and it seems they’re not doing anything with it. Darksiders is still a fun little game with an interesting premise. Darksiders is often referred to as a Zelda clone, but it was so much more than that. One of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, War, is called [...]
