Alasdair Fraser’s Game of The Year 2015

This year has been a wonderful one for gaming. While I haven’t managed to play as many titles to completion as I would have liked, I was still chuffed with 2015’s offering. Having made the switch from my ailing PC to the Xbox One, I was able to pick up some of the current crop of triple-A titles. As such I have decided to run through some of the games I enjoyed this year, followed by my runners up and then finally my game of the year.

Rise of The Tomb Raider is Getting a PC Release

Timed console exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider, has been given a PC release date for January 29th. The release date spotted via a listing for the game on the French Amazon website; the website clearly shows a PC case with the game’s box art.

The game released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10th, with Square Enix deciding to release the title against Fallout 4. The PC iteration [...]

It appears as though the exciting running, climbing, and quicktime events make a return. While combat gameplay was not shown off, a quick look at some combat and puzzles was shown as well.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is set for release November 10th, 2015.

Rise of the Tomb Raider to be Xbox One Exclusive

According to GameSpot, the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider, the newest game in the long running Tomb Raider series, will launch exclusively on the Xbox One next year. While it had been previously assumed that the tile would be released simultaneously for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it has come to light that Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind the series, had penned an exclusive deal with Microsoft to ensure that the game would appear only on the computer giant’s latest gaming machine.

“It really was nothing against any other platform,” Phill Spencer was quoted as saying about the revelation. “It’s just looking at our portfolio next [...]

Crystal Dynamics revealed today at the Xbox Media Briefing that the sequel to Tomb Raider, titled Rise of the Tomb Raider, will release Holiday 2015. The trailer features Lara Croft seeking the help of a psychiatrist due to the events she encountered during Tomb Raider and how she becomes the Lara Croft we grew up on many years ago. “In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider,” Microsoft said. “Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of the Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that [...]
