There was a dark time in the landscape of fighting games. The genre was stagnant for what felt like ages before Capcom unleashed Street Fighter IV onto the scene. The home console release back in 2009 was equivalent to Third Impact, honestly. It was a mega-ton that bombarded the entire FGC (Fighting Game Community) and got people to pay attention to a genre of games that was, frankly, not great at the time. It is no secret that Street Fighter is the fighting game. Few other names [...]
While at the New York Comic Convention (Comic-Con), Capcom announced the next Street Fighter V Beta. It will run from the 22nd of October to the 25th, with PC also getting in on the action starting the 24th. This will be the first time that cross-platform play will be introduced into the Beta program of Street Fighter V and should keep the fights rolling in.
This news comes off the back of a new character leak a few weeks ago, in which Laura Matsuda was announced. Laura is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter, similar to Eddy from the Tekken series. Street Fighter V will also get a Brazilian based level, to go alongside Laura. Is she connected to fan-favorite World Warrior, Sean [...]
Capcom, in typical fashion, kept us waiting (well those not in the JPT time zone anyway), until the wee hours of the morning to make their latest character reveal for Street Fighter V. One might speculate that this would be a returning character considering the last reveal of Rashid at Games15 in Dubai. Well, for all the Alpha 3 fans out there who weren’t sated with the mere morsel of Rainbow Mika the venerable Street Fighter series producer Yoshinori Ono-san took to the Tokyo Game Show main stage. Your next World Warrior? Karin Kanzuki.
First impressions? All the glorious rekkas, command grabs, one-inch punch (!) and possibly a projectile counter? [...]
Capcom has unveiled the newest Street Fighter V addition Rashid, who is being added to the launch roster. Rashid is a technological master, using all the latest gadgets to constantly improve his fighting technique. Adding the power of the wind he harnesses, makes him a formidable opponent. Just check out those tornado kicks, Hadoukwho?
Rashid will be playable at launch although no solid release date for Street Fighter V has been set, we will likely see it around springtime next year. Capcom is committed to providing the best Street Fighter experience they can, in aid of this they have announced that they are making all future DLC obtainable via game play with all [...]

This will be the first time that the game has been publicly playable, in its run up to a 2016 release. Street Fighter V will have specially built kiosks and hubs. Visitors to the park will be able to play during the week and will be able to compete in 8 man competitions on weekends, with the winner being rewarded a prize.

For now, feast your eyes upon the lovely trailer that Capcom UK uploaded earlier [...]
Confirmation was given at the Playstation Experience Event by longtime series producer, Yoshinori Ono, and Sony’s Adam Boyes that Street Fighter V would, indeed, be a PS4 console-exclusive along with launching on PC as well.
