This morning, 343 Industries revealed the next game in the Halo series, Halo 5: Guardians. 343 Industries General Manager, Bonnie Ross, told us this morning that “‘Halo’ isn’t simply a perennial game franchise, it’s a part of the Xbox platform itself. In terms of innovation and ideation, it’s sometimes important to people who might not even play ‘Halo.'”
She’s right. With the vast number of first person shooter games out there, Halo has always stood tall. It’s hard not to mention Xbox without eventually bringing up Halo. She states that making Halo 5: Guardians the Halo game we deserve isn’t easy.
She goes on to say “Making a ‘Halo’ game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial. It’s a task that we, at 343 Industries, are taking very seriously to ensure we deliver the “Halo” game that fans deserve, and a game that is built from the ground up for Xbox One.”
This newest entry promises to be bigger than Halo 4, while retaining core elements from the previous games. Halo 5: Guardians is set for a 2015 release, but 343 Industries says that the journey will start in 2014. APGNation will be attending E3 this year and will be sure to bring you more Halo news as it is revealed.
