Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta Comes Out This Week

The beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division will open for Xbox One on Thursday 28th at 9 am GMT / 4 am EST / 1 am PST, followed by PS4 and PC on Friday 29th at noon GMT / 7 am EST / 4 am PST. To play, you will need to have pre-ordered a copy of the game for your system of choice. There is, however, a way to beat the pre-order restriction. According to reporting by Eurogamer PS4 players can cancel their pre-order but retain access to the beta. I do not advocate for this shady sort of behaviour, but if it’s your thing, it’s technically possible. If you plan on checking it out, you should make sure to get some time off work, as it’s only available over the [...]

Zachary Mathiot’s Game Of The Year 2015

There have been many games that I loved this year, but Bloodborne for the PS4 cinches the tops spot for my game of the year. From the immense difficulty to the rewarding and fast-paced gameplay to the horrifying enemy and level design. Add to this co-op play and the recently released DLC The Old Hunters and you have fun and invigorating new experience that definitely lives up to its Dark Souls brethren and makes it my favorite PS4 game this year.

My first runner-up for game of the year is Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. I’d lost faith in the franchise after it started coming out yearly, but this one actually broke the mold in many ways. The ability to play [...]

Rise of The Tomb Raider is Getting a PC Release

Timed console exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider, has been given a PC release date for January 29th. The release date spotted via a listing for the game on the French Amazon website; the website clearly shows a PC case with the game’s box art.

The game released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10th, with Square Enix deciding to release the title against Fallout 4. Releasing the game so close to Fallout 4 had an adverse impact on the game’s sales, with the title selling far below it’s expected targets. The PC version will likely include a higher frame rate and a more consistent resolution, improving the already beautiful visuals. The PC iteration [...]

Star Wars Battlefront Beta First Impressions

To say I was keen on playing the Star Wars Battlefront Beta would be an understatement, I’ve been a huge Star Wars fan since I was a kid. I had it forced upon me as a child and then went on to grow a greater appreciation of it during my mid to late teens.  I’ve played countless game tie-ins with KOTOR being my favourite and the original Battlefront games coming in a close second. I approached the beta with a lot of scepticism,  the same scepticism I am holding for The Force Awakens when it releases later in the year. For the most part, my cynicism was unneeded as the Battlefront Beta is awesome, but it isn’t without its problems.

The first thing that [...]

Outlast 2 Trailer Teased

Red Barrels, developers of the popular first person horror title Outlast have released a teaser today for the upcoming sequel. Red Barrel teased that there would be an announcement yesterday evening, with many believing that Outlast 2 would likely be the subject of it.

Outlast 2 will follow in the steps of the first game, exploring the human mind and providing a whole new terrifying experience.  The sequel is going to feature an entirely new area for the player to carefully explore as well as new characters to unwillingly meet. The  much loved night vision camera will be making a return to Outlast 2 from the first game, along with some new toys I imagine.

Phillip [...]

No Man’s Sky Release Date Confirmed

The moment a lot of people have been waiting for just happened. No Man’s Sky finally has a rough release date as well as a new trailer. The game is going to release sometime during June 2016, no exact date has been given yet. This news comes at the end of a long period of silence from Hello Games, leaving the community pretty agitated. The game is still a long way off from being finished, but at least we have a confirmed date.

No Man’s Sky was originally  first shown over two years ago now, when it was revealed during the Spike TV Game awards. The game is said to feature over 18 quintillion planets  for the player to explore by improving their travel capabilities [...]

NYCC 2015: Next Street Fighter V Beta Announced

While at the New York Comic Convention (Comic-Con), Capcom announced the next Street Fighter V Beta. It will run from the 22nd of October to the 25th, with PC also getting in on the action starting the 24th. This will be the first time that cross-platform play will be introduced into the Beta program of Street Fighter V and should keep the fights rolling in.

This news comes off the back of a new character leak a few weeks ago, in which Laura Matsuda was announced. Laura is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter, similar to Eddy from the Tekken series. Street Fighter V will also get a Brazilian based level, to go alongside Laura. Is she connected to fan-favorite World Warrior, Sean [...]

EGX 2015: Just Cause 3 First Impressions

This is probably one of the few big games I’ll preview at EGX as the queues are pretty bad. A three-hour wait to play the division? No thanks. I did however swallow my pride and wait in line for Just Cause 3, After a forty-five minute wait I was ushered into a small square area in which two Marketing & PR graduates shouted jokes at our group, whilst trying to sell us Just Cause 3. Rather than just let us play the game and you know, actually gage whether we like it. After a further twenty minutes of shouting and being forced to watch videos, we were finally allowed some actual Play time with Just Cause 3.

So right off the bat, the game world was completely open to me. I [...]

The Mega Man Legacy Collection is the latest bundle of Mega Man games to hit the market. The Collection comes with the first six games in the series and a bunch of extra content to go on top.  Its release comes after a year of controversy surrounding the Mega Man-inspired Mighty No. 9, which was supposed to see a 2015 release but ended up being delayed. Capcom clearly saw the interest in Mega Man [...]

Rock Band Road Crew essentially lets you act as a rep for Harmonix by hosting and promoting the new game around release.
