Developer Rockstar Games has been rumored to be brewing many different projects recently especially since the release of GTA V right before the introduction of the next gen consoles.
Speculation has been circling about GTA V for next gen consoles, Red Dead Redemption for PC, another Max Payne title, or even a follow-up for one of the smaller titles like L.A. Noire.
Unfortunately, Rockstar has kept their secret pretty well. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said after a record-breaking sales count for GTA V he is “very excited about what [Rockstar Games has] in store for next-gen systems.”
One fantastic piece of news is that the title is planned to be released by the end of Take-Two’s fiscal year, ending on March 31st, 2015.
When asked if a representative would be announcing what this news actually means, Zelnick circumvented the question stating that “Rockstar has not announced that they’re going to be attending E3.”
At this point, Rockstar contributes to nearly half of Take-Two’s profits, so it’s safe to assume that this release will be big news (which we will be featuring). This points to GTA V for next gen consoles being the most likely case.
Stay tuned as this story inevitably breaks, possibly while two members of our team attends E3 conference (congratulations, guys!). Be sure to read our news about the E3 Expo and before that, look at what’s on the leaked schedule.
