Dontnod might not ring any bells, but Remember Me has made a huge splash as the company’s first entry into gaming under the Capcom banner, but now that they are partnering with Square Enix, we’re giddy for what could come next.
As of yet, there’s no news on what the game will be called or if it pertains to one of Square Enix’s long standing franchises (Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Final Fantasy), but it’s sure to be exciting.
Dontnod CEO, Oskar Guilbert teased us with a taste, though, “We’re very excited to be working with Square Enix on our new game. It’s a twist on traditional story-driven games, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.”
If you’ve played Remember Me, then you understand that that “twist on story-driven games” is what Dontnod is fantastic at.
This is also an impressive bounce back for the baby developer that was rumored to have filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. Guilbert responded with this news in January, likely hinting at Square Enix: “We are also in close negotiations with one big partner. I cannot of course announce the name and say that, but we are in very close negotiations for our next project with one of the top publishers.”
This opens an exciting new chapter in Dontnod’s career, and you’ll be sure we’re writing down every paragraph as this company works to continue to grow. Follow our Twitter @APGNation to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
