Spiders—the developer that brought us Mars: Wars Logs and Bound By Flame are working on a new title that appears to be set in the same world as Mars: War Logs is the new post-apocalyptic roleplaying game, Technomancer.
The game is set on Mars during an event called the “War of water”, and you play as an aspiring Technomancer with an uncertain future. His past is coming back to haunt him and may threaten his present. He is on the run from an authoritarian force forced to deal with some unpleasant aspects of the Red Planet. He undertakes a quest that will force him to get chatty with the planet’s natives, exploring cities lost under the ice, as well as cyberpunk slums sprawled across Mars dusty embrace. Faced with the cruelty of Mars’ iron-fist enforcers and wildlife, can you survive long enough to uncover the truth behind The technomancer? The game will also be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016.
Technomancer claims to offer players action-based combat, spanning across four different skill trees. The game focuses on several different fighting styles and the destructive electricity based powers available to the technomancers from Mars: War Logs. Not all situations will necessarily be able to be solved with brute force. The game features a dynamic conversation system that will play an important role and alter the story depending on the choices you make in the narrative. Players will be able to craft equipment, weapons and armor for their party, as well as recruit new members and nurture relationships along the way.
With a unique, thrilling sci-fi story set on the red planet, Technomancer offers small hints to the possibility of being a sequel to the underrated gem, Mars: War Logs. Players will bond with their companions, learning their secrets, while managing their inventory training them. The game will boast five different endings for many quests, altering their conclusions and rewards, as well as the people you can meet and interact with. Finally, Spiders are giving players the opportunity to play as the cybernetically overpowered Technomancers from Mars: War Logs. Here’s hoping it’s a sequel, as I’m not the only one excited about that possibility.
