Hidden among the announcements of new shows and films coming to Netflix in March was the animated series, Hal0: The Fall of Reach. Previously only available in the Limited and Collector’s Editions of Halo 5: Guardians, the game was met with mixed reception. Accordingly, many fans were put off by the style and voice acting, as well as the overall production value of the mini-series.
All that said, it is nice to see them following up on Halo: Forward Unto Dawn which was also released on Netflix. The Fall of Reach, which is based on the novel of the same name, explores the origins of the Spartan Two program, Master Chief’s blue team, and the iconic MJOLNIR armour. The first part of the series is available through the Halo Channel app on Xbox One and Windows 10. I look forward to watching the next two-thirds of the show, which I was unable to see on launch. Alternatively, you can buy the game from the Xbox Store for $9.99, which I would not recommend, seeing as it is cheaper to pay for a month of Netflix.
Also coming soon is Halo 5: Guardian‘s February update Hammer Storm, which will see the return of Griffball and the Gravity Hammer and feature an all new Arena map called Torque.
