Halo: The Fall of Reach Is Coming To Netflix

Hidden among the announcements of new shows and films coming to Netflix in March was the animated series, Hal0: The Fall of Reach. Previously only available in the Limited and Collector’s Editions of Halo 5: Guardians, the game was met with mixed reception. Accordingly, many fans were put off by the style and voice acting, as well as the overall production value of the mini-series.

All that said, it is nice to see them following up on Halo: Forward Unto Dawn which was also released on Netflix. The Fall of Reach, which is based on the novel of the same name, explores the origins of the Spartan Two program, Master Chief’s blue team, and the iconic MJOLNIR armour. [...]

Tom Clancy’s The Division Beta Comes Out This Week

The beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division will open for Xbox One on Thursday 28th at 9 am GMT / 4 am EST / 1 am PST, followed by PS4 and PC on Friday 29th at noon GMT / 7 am EST / 4 am PST. To play, you will need to have pre-ordered a copy of the game for your system of choice. There is, however, a way to beat the pre-order restriction. According to reporting by Eurogamer PS4 players can cancel their pre-order but retain access to the beta. I do not advocate for this shady sort of behaviour, but if it’s your thing, it’s technically possible. If you plan on checking it out, you should make sure to get some time off work, as it’s only available over the [...]

Rise of The Tomb Raider is Getting a PC Release

Timed console exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider, has been given a PC release date for January 29th. The release date spotted via a listing for the game on the French Amazon website; the website clearly shows a PC case with the game’s box art.

The game released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10th, with Square Enix deciding to release the title against Fallout 4. Releasing the game so close to Fallout 4 had an adverse impact on the game’s sales, with the title selling far below it’s expected targets. The PC version will likely include a higher frame rate and a more consistent resolution, improving the already beautiful visuals. The PC iteration [...]

Star Wars Battlefront Beta First Impressions

To say I was keen on playing the Star Wars Battlefront Beta would be an understatement, I’ve been a huge Star Wars fan since I was a kid. I had it forced upon me as a child and then went on to grow a greater appreciation of it during my mid to late teens.  I’ve played countless game tie-ins with KOTOR being my favourite and the original Battlefront games coming in a close second. I approached the beta with a lot of scepticism,  the same scepticism I am holding for The Force Awakens when it releases later in the year. For the most part, my cynicism was unneeded as the Battlefront Beta is awesome, but it isn’t without its problems.

The first thing that [...]

Outlast 2 Trailer Teased

Red Barrels, developers of the popular first person horror title Outlast have released a teaser today for the upcoming sequel. Red Barrel teased that there would be an announcement yesterday evening, with many believing that Outlast 2 would likely be the subject of it.

Outlast 2 will follow in the steps of the first game, exploring the human mind and providing a whole new terrifying experience.  The sequel is going to feature an entirely new area for the player to carefully explore as well as new characters to unwillingly meet. The  much loved night vision camera will be making a return to Outlast 2 from the first game, along with some new toys I imagine.

EGX 2015: Raging Justice First Impressions

During this years Eurogamer Expo I had the chance to sit and play Raging Justice, a nostalgic throwback to the days of side-scrolling beat em ups. You have to beat up everyone you see on the screen, using a variety of kicks, punches weapons and even a lawnmower.

The first thing I noticed was how well the game controlled; I had previously been somewhat sceptical about how the game played. This was largely in part to the 2D pre-rendered sprites and how this made the movement look, this was obviously an artistic choice, but it didn’t affect the game play at all. I got to grips with the controls fairly quickly; there’s been a conscious choice through development to [...]

EGX 2015: Just Cause 3 First Impressions

This is probably one of the few big games I’ll preview at EGX as the queues are pretty bad. A three-hour wait to play the division? No thanks. I did however swallow my pride and wait in line for Just Cause 3, After a forty-five minute wait I was ushered into a small square area in which two Marketing & PR graduates shouted jokes at our group, whilst trying to sell us Just Cause 3. Rather than just let us play the game and you know, actually gage whether we like it. After a further twenty minutes of shouting and being forced to watch videos, we were finally allowed some actual Play time with Just Cause 3.

So right off the bat, the game world was completely open to me. I [...]
