Elite Dangerous: Horizons Beta Launched

Fans of Elite Dangerous will have a lot to play for this holiday season, as the first part of the Elite Dangerous: Horizons beta begins today with the launch of Planetary Landings. This new expansion brings a slew of new features to the already expansive universe of Elite Dangerous, but perhaps most impressive of all is that players can now land on planets and explore their surface with the “Scarab SRV” vehicle.

“Planetary Landings in Elite Dangerous is the closest most of us will ever come to visiting other worlds, and it’s just the beginning of Horizons’ new season of gameplay expansions,” Frontier Developments CEO David Braben said. “There is so much new [...]

This one’s made with love and apparent influences in mind. ALIEN BREED! If you know .. you just know.

Upon The Shoulders of Giants

Though you have arrived in this land of ice and snow investigate a land dispute between the locals and a rich industrialist, it quickly become apparent that there is more to this mystery than a simple matter of squabbles over land and property rights.

Heroes of the Storm Launches Today, Introduces New Character

Heroes of the Storm has finally reached release day! Those who’ve taken part in Technical Alpha/Closed Beta since last year and beyond will soon be joined by the teeming masses waiting to get their hands on Blizzard’s objective-based hero brawler. Can Blizzard carve out a niche in a market dominated by Valve’s DOTA 2 and Riot’s League of Legends? If anyone could it is probably the same folks who made Hearthstone and World of Warcraft. Their approach is more in line with Riot’s business model with charging for subsequent Heroes (though all can be purchased using in-game gold as well along with skins/mounts). Chroma variations and Master Skins can, [...]

Vella woke from her restless nap with a grim disposition. Tradition stated that her time had come, hadn’t it? Tribute had to be paid, and that meant she, along with other such “worthy sacrifices”, would be gussied up and presented in a festive row of bombastic hues. Young girls gathered up like freshly frosted cupcakes for a denizen of the deep to consume. Mog [...]

Feel The Rhythm

There aren’t many games out there that can lay claim to audacious design aspirations that Crypt of the Necrodancer has. It is a roguelike dungeon crawler, complete with tile-by-tile movement and stiff penalties of death and even a charming 2D sprite aesthetic, that merges into the very core of a rhythm game. The result is nothing short of magic.

Cadence, a would-be dungeoneer who stumbles across the [...]
