Last month during GDC, Sony released information regarding their plans for their next update but didn’t specify what those changes would be.
Today, those complete details have been shared via the PlayStation Blog.
In firmware 1.70, SHAREfactory will be released and is a new rich video editor app that makes it easy for you to customize your gameplay videos. Here’s a video showing off the capabilities of SHAREfactory:
The video editor makes sharing easy and adds the ability to export the videos to a USB drive. In addition, SHAREfactory allows users to upload their clips to Facebook with a touch of a button.
HDCP can now be turned off so you can capture via HDMI, a feature that many have been waiting for.
Has a slow internet connection prevented you from going all digital with your games? Now that’s a thing of the past with update 1.70.
Users who pre-order games from the PSN Store will be able to pre-install days before release.
This allows you to play the game the moment it’s released without having to wait until midnight at your local retail store or a delivery from UPS.
