Mario Kart In Style With New Mercedes-Benz Cars

In partnership with the legendary car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, the August 28th update to Mario Kart 8 will allow players to race in real world cars for the first time. The update will allow games to download three special Mercedes-Benz themed cars: the Mercedes-Benz GLA, the 300 SL Roadster s and the  Silver Arrow, that can all be customized with in-game with various wheels, hang gliders, other accessories to tweak their performance. Gamers will also be treated to a special “Mercedes Cup” that showcases the new cars.

The update, which hits home on the 22ed anniversary of the release of the first Mario Kart game in Japan, will also bring a host of new features in addition to these new cars, such as being able to display the course map on your television, the addition of a score mode that keeps track of your game statistics, and improved online connectivity. To cap off the celebration of all things Mario Kart, Nintendo will also be releasing the first Mario Kart for the SNES on the WiiU Virtual Console on the same day, giving fans of the series plenty to do in the near future.

My name is Nicole Seraphita and I’m 27. I’ve been gaming since the days of the NES and have owned at least one system from each generation since then. My favorite type of games if most definitely RPGs, with my favorites being titles like Chrono Cross, Persona 4, and Tales of Xillia, though I also sometimes dabble in platforming games, fighting games, and visual novels. When I’m not writing for APGNation or playing games, I enjoy table top and card games, watch anime, and write fiction that I occasionally publish online. I tend to write a lot of Sci-fi and the occasional bit of fantasy, with the often overlooked sub-genre of Biopunk being my favorite. I’ve also written a few visual novels, though only one of them has made it all the way to completion thus far. My current dream is to be able to bring the Monster Girl genre to a western audience.

Have your say!
