Today at 4PM PST, 343 Industries released the latest content update patch for Halo: Master Chief Collection. Xbox One players who have recently patched their games may be experiencing issues with multiplayer matchmaking. In some instances a window indicating “Downloading Latest Data” will pop up without resolving, and players will be unable to join any matchmaking games. Youtube personality DeeKay86 uploaded a video detailing a possible workaround by hard-rebooting the console to fix the problem. If you’re neither amused nor aroused by heavy British accents, we’ve gone ahead and transcribed the solution in five easy steps below:
- Download and install the latest Halo patch.
- Hold down the touch power button for about 6 seconds.
- Wait a few seconds to switch the console back on.
Let us know if this resolved the matchmaking issue or if DeeKay86 is a filthy liar.
